Style, Set, Go Series // Metallic & Monochromatic

Gold, gold, & more gold! This is one of the most fall-ish colors in my mind & I think Amanda Miller may agree. She wore this monochromatic look to kick off NYFW last month. The idea of wearing all one color may appear to be a rather daunting task to some, but let's dissect Amanda's approach to this particular look.

The number one key here is to include a variety of textures. Amanda chose to convey this by pairing a wool sweater with a metallic pleated midi. I especially love the addition of a shiny metallic piece, rather than another material because it really stands out.

As for her kicks, she wore these black velvet booties. Once again, the more textures, the merrier! Also, it can be noted she diverged from the monochromatic look when it came to her shoes. Still keeping it simple, the dark color looks fabulous with the gold.

To top it all off, she added a leather crossbody. I love this particular one because it brings in a few more colors to the overall outfit.

All in all, Amanda's outfit is very basic & simple: a sweater, skirt, booties, & bag. However, this is an impeccable example of how you can pull a few basic pieces from your wardrobe & turn them into a fashionista's dream. Choose your favorite color, pick some textured pieces, & go!
