5 Day Guide to Thanksgiving

Hello hello! MY GOODNESS has life been busy the past few weeks! The end of the cheer/football season, my high school's fall dance concert, & the holidays all make for a very exciting & chaotic time of year. Luckily, as for my family, we only have a few more days of chaos before we can resort to perfect peace--well, not really. Thanksgiving is not necessarily the most peaceful holiday, but it still remains one of my favorites. I absolutely love when all of my family & friends come together for a couple of days to just be with each other. Not to mention the clothes this time of year are unbeatable & the FOOD is just scrumptious. Ugh, my stomach is growling just thinking about it!

Anyway, in honor of Thanksgiving being less than two weeks away, I wanted to provide y'all with  5 outfit ideas for each day of Thanksgiving week. If you happen to be interested in any of the following pieces, make sure to click the links below each collage.

To kick off the week, I choose a relaxed take on a business outfit, allow me to explain. I wanted to focus on a cool pair of trousers, so I went with this slim-cropped pair. But of course, this is the week of Thanksgiving, so to dial it down, I paired a black sweatshirt with ruffle sleeves. As for shoes, I love these velvet booties! Not only do they bring in some texture to the overall outfit but the small acrylic heel adds a modern touch. Though this is an awesome combo, I thought it was a bit color deprived so I added a purple bag and purple statement earrings.

Who says you can't be cute, casual, & comfortable all at once? This entire combination covers all of those bases. A "gallery tee" & a pair of black jeans are the starting point here. Once you've got that, all you need is accessories (Click here to read my tips on how to properly accessorize)! Maxi cardigans are becoming one of Fall 2017's greatest hits. For an outfit as simple as this one, I think a maxi cardigan is the perfect layering piece. I then paired it with a pair of black, corduroy loafers to add some texture variation. To top it all off, I added a bright red circle crossbody & a red neck scarf. The bold stripes & large circular bag really do mix well together.

I totally understand those of you who won't necessarily feel like putting a ton of time & energy into picking your outfits out during this holiday time. This is exactly why I am bringing you this piece. It is SO simple but also extremely fashion-forward. The first thing you need is a simple sweater dress or really any basic, cold-weather dress, for that matter. These fall floral mules I thought were the best Texas-Thanksgiving shoe because though they are fall colors, they are also perfect for when the weather is warmer. They just add a pop of color to the outfit. If your really lazy (or even if you're not), you should grab a baker boy hat like the one above. Not only is it another stylish embellish, but it also hides your unwashed hair. :)

Turkey Day!! For Thanksgiving Day, I always like to keep my outfit fairly classic. Here, I chose a plain white, long sleeve, turtleneck & a pair of blue denim jeans for the base (I might recommend a pair of jeans with a bit of stretch, keeping the amount of turkey & other goodness you will be eating, in mind). Velvet is all the rage right now so I felt this green velvet blazer would not only work-in some textures but also, some color. As for shoes, I went with this pair of black, pointed-toe, velvet, pumps with bows. A cheetah print belt like the one above is a great way to incorporate a peep of pattern.  Sticking by the classic theme, these gold hoops with ribbons were the ideal accessory. The black colored ribbon matches the shoes & belt, the bows match the bows on the shoes, & in general, they are simple & classic.

Finally, Fun Friday aka Black Friday. I am certainly not a Black Friday shopper, but I love a merry outfit to wear when decorating for Christmas. I am in love with this glitzy midi skirt. I think the color blocking makes for a fantastic fall touch--I think it is neat how darker colors are included, but it is not too overwhelming. I then paired this chunky, white, cable-knit sweater with the graceful skirt. To follow the festive theme, I went for a pair of pink, glitter Tretorn sneakers. To complete the outfit, I added a textured black crossbody and some bold pink sunnies.

Hope this comes in handy to you all!
