A Handmade Midi

Two summers ago, I made this midi skirt with the help of my grandmother. It was the first piece of clothing I sewed using a pattern and all. Originally, it was created to wear to a wedding I attended last October. It did make for great wedding attire, but it also is awesome for just a casual Sunday outfit which is exactly what I used it for this week.

I talk a lot about tees, but let me say they are lifesavers! This particular one, I got this past spring from Banana Republic. yes, this one is extremely basic, but it can be easily replaced with a graphic tee or fancier top. I will admit, the pastel lavender is a bit light for this time of year, which is why I paired it with these loafers.

As for the loafers, they are an amazing fall essential. They are a great option for when you aren't quite ready to dive into boots yet but don't want to whip out the sandals again. The pewter metallicness corresponds well with the slight sheen in the pattern on the skirt. Also, the loafers allowed me to keep the dressiness to a minimum.
