Post Valentine's Day Pink
Hi all! How was your weekend? I spent mine in the Big Apple with my parents & sister to celebrate my mom's birthday & for a late birthday/Christmas present for Sarah & I. Since we were only going for a few days, we went ahead and flew out on the 7 AM flight Thursday morning. This way we were able to maximize our time in the city.
Today I am bringing to you the outfit I wore all day Thursday. From my 4 AM wake up, to strolling the cobblestone streets of SoHo later that night, this trendy outfit kept me warm & comfortable throughout the day.
For my top, I went with this pink & maroon, ruby striped, turtleneck-tee from J.Crew. I thought it was pretty appropriate, given Wednesday was Valentine's Day. I love the boldness of the colors, but after all, this top is just a tee. Therefore, I had no problem being cozy on my flight.
Since my top was so vibrant, I threw on this pair of Frame Denim wide-leg jeans. These are relatively simple pants, but I just love the small piping detail down the side.
I find it important to make sure your shoes compliment your overall outfit. So when wearing such daring pants, I often like to wear something with a heel to give a little lift. My only issue with this approach, is often times heels are not the most comfortable or appropriate for winter weather. This is why I love my wedged sneakers. Originally my mom's, I wear these non-stop in the cooler months. Honestly, I find them more comfortable than regular sneakers!
To complete my look I layered on my pink pea coat. I loved the way the coat tied into the pink in my tee & also polished my look. SInce it was not too cold in NYC, this lighter coat was the perfect layer.
